Our best day EVER - 12/4/05: Paul and Shooter with judges Marti Fontenot and John Ingram after our Open Gun Dog Retrieving win to finish Shooter's Dual Championship!!!!! Shooter was only the 2nd DC in 2005 and achieved that goal 2 weeks shy of his 4th birthday!
Gettin' it done in the ring... This is Shooter with his able handler and my lovely wife, Jennifer. They took his first BOB at the tender age of 11 months and then went on to earn a Group 2, losing only to the #1 German Wirehair in the country. We were so new that we didn't realize we could get a picture for a 2nd place, so the BOB picture will have to do. :) :)
Another really, really good day: On October 10th, 2004, Shooter suffered a very serious snakebite and we almost lost him. Luckily, we didn't, and just a short month later, he made his debut in broke dog stakes in resounding fashion, notching a win in his first stake for 2 AFC points!
You never forget your first time... How true that is! Shooter is our first field dog - or show dog, or dog that we've done ANYTHING with other than feed and allow to sleep in bed with us. Anyway, we were a little over halfway through our first field season with Shooter - he had his JH and a couple of placements, and we were having fun. THEN - February 2003, Shooter had his coming-out party!! Our boy won Amateur Puppy, Open Puppy, and Open Derby for a total of 4 FC points and 2 AFC points! He also placed 3rd in Amateur Derby
